In this episode of “In the Name of Beauty,” I head back to Putri Spa in Bali to try Balinese Boreh, a traditional body scrub treatment that was first developed by Balinese Farmers to rejuvenate their bodies after a day working in the rice fields.
Boreh is made from a blend of different herbs and spices such as galangal, turmeric, ginger, leaves, rice, cloves, pepper, and chilis. The herbs and spices are blended together to create a thick paste that is spread all of the body. Boreh is supposed to bring warmth to the body, improve blood circulation, relax muscles, and soothe away aches and pains. It sounded like a miracle!
Now, going into this experience, I had heard and read from a few sources that boreh had a “unique” smell. So, I was a bit apprehensive going into trying this out.
Was the smell as unique as people had claimed? Also, ? Watch the episode to find out…
