Is Castile Soap a Good Feminine Wash?

It’s no secret that women have been using Castile soap to clean their privates for decades. But what is Castile soap? And can it really be used as a feminine wash? Here’s everything you need to know!

Castile soap boasts organic ingredients that are gentle on sensitive skin.

As a woman, you know all too well that the skin around your lady parts is sensitive and can easily become irritated by harsh products.

In fact, many products that are marketed as being great feminine washes are actually misleading and harmful.

Why?

Because they contain ingredients that are way too strong for your privates. Things like artificial fragrances and preservatives may make a product smell nice and last longer, but the risk of irritation is all too real.

If you’ve used typical feminine washes on the market, you probably know what we mean.

Thankfully, that’s where Castile soap comes in.

This soap has been around for hundreds of years, and it’s made with just a few key ingredients like organic olive oil and essential oils.

Castile soap is gentle on sensitive skin, so it’s perfect for external feminine cleansing.

It also boasts organic ingredients that are gentle on your body’s pH balance and will leave you feeling fresh after each use.

And again, since the liquid soap isn’t made with harsh chemicals like other feminine washes, there isn’t much risk of irritation either! It’s vegan, cruelty-free, and safe to use externally.

What about the pH balance of Castile soap?

As you probably know, your skin needs to have a balanced pH level to be healthy. So what is a healthy pH level?

It’s about 5.5 on a 1-14 scale. Keep in mind that a pH of 7 is neutral, and anything above or below is alkaline or acidic, respectively.

So, ideally, it’s best to avoid products that stay on your skin for a long time that are either too acidic or too alkaline.

You may be wondering: Where does Castile soap fit in on the pH scale?

Great question. Castile soap has a pH level that’s somewhere between 9-11.

The reason this isn’t a problem and shouldn’t disturb your pH balance is that soap stays on your skin for very little time.

Unlike a moisturizer that stays on your skin for hours, you wash soap right off after sudsing up. And that makes all the difference.

Since Castile soap doesn’t have artificial fragrances or other ingredients that can cause irritation, it’s a very gentle product to use as a feminine wash.

In other words, you get the benefits of a super gentle cleanser without the potential side effects of most feminine washes on the market. How’s that for a win-win?

Bottom line

It’s no secret that your private parts have some of the most sensitive skin on your whole body.

That’s why it’s so important to find a gentle way to clean your feminine area, especially if you’re prone to irritation, yeast infections, or other issues.

If you’re sick and tired of brands that claim to be great for your body but use all kinds of harmful ingredients in their products, it might be time for a change.

The great thing about Castile soap, beyond all the benefits we’ve already covered, is that it’s incredibly versatile.

You can use it in all kinds of ways, like as a body wash, shampoo, shaving cream, and much more. Check out our own line of organic olive oil Castile soap here and grab a bottle for yourself!
