Pores, pores, everywhere. Our skin consists of pores all over the body, even on the head. They are tiny holes that enable toxins such as oil and sweat to escape from our bodies. Yet, enlarged pores can make you self-conscious, especially when they are in prominent areas like the face.

4 Tips to Reduce Pore Size Naturally

Pores play a notable role in the skin, and so we must live with them. However, you can make them less noticeable using natural methods. 

These four tips will help you shrink them effortlessly.

1. Scrub Regularly, but Gently!

Exfoliating or scrubbing your skin will eliminate dead cells. Incorporate this into your weekly skincare regimen to see positive results. 

Ensure you don’t overdo it and use a gentle scrub that will not irritate your skin. Some natural scrubs include sugar on a lemon wedge, baking soda mixed with water, and a tomato/oatmeal combination. 

2. Cleanse Daily

Daily cleansing of your skin, particularly if it’s oily or clogged, will significantly reduce pore size and acne symptoms. 

Be keen enough to use a gentle cleanser. You can get one that contains glycolic acid, but don’t overdo it, as the skin may dry out. 

It’s key to wash off any makeup before bed and don’t use hot water since that will be damaging. As hard as it may be, you should also avoid the urge to squeeze pimples or blackheads as that causes enlarged pores.

3. Wear Sunscreen

Wear sunscreen whenever it’s sunny to protect your skin. Consider using primers that have SPF, as they can help make pores less obvious by tightening the skin.  

4. Make Healthy Choices

Be sure to prioritize eating well, drinking enough water, and exercising often. Keep to a balanced diet full of veggies and fruits. Remember to drink lots of water, and cut back on caffeine and alcohol, since internal hydration leads to better skin. Regular exercise also increases blood flow and encourages sweating.

With a few habit changes and time, you should see a difference in your pore size!
